Soap Swap

The Nova Studio 10th anniversary soap swap was fun!  I contributed a soap made with primarily certified organic oils and scented with lemon essential oil called lemon dream bar.  I didn't add any colorants because I was trying to keep it as natural as possible.  It's kind of a homely looking bar but the ingredients are solid:-) and the cigar bands dress it up.  I was wowed by the tree soap from little haven soap (top right in photo) as well as soapeez soap pie slice (middle left in photo)! Both are labor intensive and took several days to make!  I also liked seeing the variety in packaging; I am going to try to wrap this year's gift soaps in paper the way Ruth did (bottom row in middle). The group had 8 participants and we not only traded bars of soap but also our recipes.  Now the big decision is which soap to try first!

Pink Grapefruit massage bars

I heart massage bars of all kinds - especially soapy ones.  Check out my last post back in January on these pumped-out massage bars.  This mold does look like a hedgehog, but it's nothing to sneeze at -  the quilted texture is just perfect for a spa-like experience and it's a very hefty bar at 6 ounces!  I made 15 of these beauties for an upcoming swap scented with Pink Grapefruit fragrance oil.  The smell is divine and I can't wait for my swap buddies to try this!

Soap Swap photos

Soap is officially coming out of my ears!  I won a gift certificate which I used to purchase 10 lbs of melt and pour soap base. And I also got some great new molds I can't wait to try out.  I can't wait to make more cool soap creations!  And last week, I participated in a soap swap and got back some really fun great soaps which I can't wait to try!  I love seeing all the different packaging and ingredients that people use in their soaps.  Below is a soap swap photo and also a photo of the new molds I got.

Toasty Marshmallows (soap!)

Check these out!  Love these soap marshmallows.  The orange ones are scented with tangerine essential oil, the light purple ones are lavender essential oils, and the white ones are unscented.  I wanted to make green mint ones but I ran out of time.  These soaps are for the swap on Saturday.  Can't wait to see what others are making!
